Graphic that says Exceeds Expectations for the school report card.

November 19, 2024

Dear Families of the School District of Omro,

The purpose of this communication is to share updated ratings on the most recent (23-24) Report Cards, issued by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The DPI Report Card is one of the performance indicators used to reflect on our strengths and areas for improvement.  As a learning community, we are continually looking to improve in the area of Learning & Academics.

The school report card is primarily based on the previous school year’s performance. At the foundation of the report cards are four priority areas: Achievement, Growth, Target Group Outcomes, On-Track to Graduation. Schools and districts receive a score for each priority area.  The priority area scores are then aggregated into an overall accountability score, from 0 to 100. This score is displayed on the front page of the school or district report cards. It is important to note the 0 to 100 accountability score is not a “percent correct” measurement. Based on its score, a school or district receives one of five rating categories, from Fails to Meet Expectations to Significantly Exceeds Expectations, as well as corresponding one to five stars.  Listed below are our overall categories:

  • Patch Elementary - Alternate Rating (Satisfactory Progress)

  • Omro Elementary - Meeting Expectations (★★★)

  • Omro Middle School - Exceeding Expectations (★★★★)

  • Omro High School - Meeting Expectations (★★★)

  • School District of Omro - Exceeding Expectations (★★★★)

The District is sharing these results with you because they can help highlight some of our successes and identify areas of focus.

One aspect of the report card is comparing the District’s performance to other districts throughout the state. We can proudly share that we meet or exceed the average performances across the state in all reported areas. One area of continued focus is to increase student performance in the area of reading.  The vision for Learning & Academics is that ALL students engage in learning at high levels and graduate being college, career, and life ready.

As DPI stresses, it is important to remember that these report cards are just one source of information about our schools.  School and district report cards and details will be posted on our district website. They can also be accessed now at http://dpi.wi.gov/accountability/report-cards, which contains resources that explain the report cards. Feel free to reach out to your building principal or Kali Dubinski at kdubi@omro.k12.wi.us if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Your Administrative Team
