Congratulations to OMS and OHS Fox Friday winners from September 27, 2024! These students were nominated by staff members or other students for demonstrating the Fox Four (Safety, Responsibility, Respect, or Positivity).
Staff members were nominated by students or other staff members for being a role model, an advocate for students, or having a positive connection with students.
The middle school cross country team has been hard at work to improve their performances. They recently ran a meet in Winneconne, with the boys' team placing third out of eight scored teams. At hte Mishicot meet, the girls' took first place out of the nonscored teams, and the boys took tenth place out of 21 scored teams.
Great job, Foxes!
THROWBACK THURSDAY
The Omro Band has a proud tradition, which includes being active in past and current community events. This image of past band members marching in a parade is from the early to mid 2000s.
We invite you to comment on this post with your favorite Omro Band memory!
STAFF SPOTLIGHT
For the 2024-2025 school year, we would like to introduce/share about as many staff members as possible, as everyone has an integral role in our school community.
Staff were asked to share about themselves using a "6 word summary." Read on to learn a bit more about Mrs. Prado and Mr. Schulz!
OUR KIDS. OUR COMMUNITY. OUR FUTURE.
REFERENDUM 2024: Like many other Wisconsin districts, the School District of Omro deals with increased student needs and reduced state funding. At the same time, significant investments are needed to address the major facilities challenges, including District-wide safety and security; aging infrastructure; overcrowding at H.B. Patch Elementary; and annual operations and maintenance costs. Today, many Wisconsin school districts are operating under an active referendum.
The proposed referendum plan was designed to address our major challenges.

Middle school students are enjoying the new swings during recess time. It is not unusual to see all eight swings in use at any given time!
Students in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family and Society class recently spent their day in the Foods Lab making pancakes. They needed to figure out the abbreviations and conversions of the ingredients in order to prepare the recipe.
On September 19 and 20, our grade 6 students had the opportunity to field trip to Camp Lucerne. Students engaged in canoeing, archery, team building activities, pickleball, and much more! Thank you to the sixth grade staff for planning and supporting such a positive, educational experience.
Congratulations to our Fox Paw winners from H.B. Patch and OES for the week ending on September 20, 2024. Thanks for exemplifying the Fox Four of being safe, responsible, respectful, and positive!
The OES playground experienced a "refresh" this school year with all new equipment. The students have loved exploring throughout the first few weeks of school!

Representatives from Omro's Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) and Athletic/Activities Director Jon Tomaszewski had the opportunity to join CESA 6 CEO Ted Neitzke, and student athletes from across the conference, at the first Flyway Sportsmanship Summit.
While there, they experienced team-building activities and processed how their leadership can have a positive impact on their school environment. One takeaway was the zero-zero mindset, which emphasizes that no matter if an individual/team/group is winning or losing, the score is zero-zero. When a person/team thinks they have lost, the game is over. When a person/team thinks they have won is when the competition can catch them.
Students in Mrs. Hughes' grade 8 Science class were challenged to suspend one Dixie cup above their paper using 3 other cups and Popsicle sticks. Once they achieved that, they needed to add weights to the suspended cup and remove as many Popsicle sticks as possible. Edyn and Maranda were able to add 25 pennies to their cup using only 8 Popsicle sticks!
The Omro Wrestling team took fundraising into their own hands by working at Trillium Hill Dairy in Berlin. The fundraising opportunity is greatly appreciated by the team!
