The National Honor Society executive board started a new tradition this year! They chose 4 students to adopt & shop for through the Christmas Crusade program sponsored by Form the Family (previously the Winnebago County Foster Closet) which is a non profit based in Oshkosh. NHS members met after school to shop and select gifts for the kids. Thank you Liam, Ariana, Holly, and Makenna for each leading a shopping group!

Shopping Day with Kids has a primary purpose of providing a memorable Christmas to children in our community who would otherwise not be getting much for Christmas. Every year, the 1st Saturday in December, a group of chaperones (mostly Omro High School students and a few Omro Staff) take approximately 30-60 children, grades 4k through five, shopping for themselves for clothing, toys and other items of their choice with money provided by donations to our group from the community. We start our day with a donated breakfast at Omro Elementary School while the students get to know their shopping buddy. Then we load buses for the shopping trip to Oshkosh. The group shops for one hour, then returns to school where all the gifts are wrapped and labeled and then a donated lunch is served.

Creativity was on full display when students in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family and Society class created NEW food norms for our society-- creating a new food treat and/or tradition that does not already exist. Students created Gummy Bear Popsicles, 4th of July Spicy Pickle Chips, and Breakfast on a Stick.

AP Biology students did a Mystery Solution Lab in which they had to make model cells and use the principles of osmosis to determine the concentrations of various "mystery solutions". The cells were a challenge to make but students were able to solve the mystery using their biology know-how.
