At the end of February, Liam, Kayannah, and Sadie represented Omro High School in the Final State Test for Battle of the Books. They placed 18th out of 61 teams in the state! To celebrate their hard work this season, they were joined by our Book Club Seniors for a day of celebration and love of literacy.
On the field trip they visited a Little Free Library in Omro to restock with books. After sharing some new stories with residents in Omro they went to Barnes and Noble where they picked out new books for our school library. They finished off the day with lunch and a movie. Great job this Battle of the Books Season Liam, Kayannah and Sadie and best wishes to our Book Club Seniors!

Thank you for having a positive impact!

Ms. Ransom and Ms. Jentz took a few Sources of Strength peer leaders to Madison for a Mental Wellness Student Leadership Summit, hosted by the Wisconsin Office of Children’s Mental Health. We met First Lady Kathy Evers, who shared that her and Governor Evers used to live in Omro and loved the area. We listened to speakers and learned about mental health resources. We were able to connect with students from over 40 schools across Wisconsin to make connections and share ideas about promoting student wellness. Students felt proud of the work that SOS has done and other schools were impressed with our program at OHS.
