The first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year is tomorrow (Thursday, August 21). We look forward to welcoming students back into our buildings!
Today, August 19, is full of events to help our Omro students feel prepared for Thursday, August 21.
~ 6th Grade Orientation (1:30 pm - 4:00 pm)
~ Freshman Orientation (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm)
~ Open House (4:00 pm-6:00 pm)
This week, our buildings were full of staff preparing to welcome students back into our buildings next week.
Prior to the first day of school on Thursday, August 21, we encourage families to attend the Open House event at your learner's building on Tuesday, August 19, from 4:00-6:00 pm. See the building newsletters that have been shared for more information.

Eli Schumacher, a history teacher at Omro High School, was one of just 13 educators selected nationwide—and the only representative from Wisconsin —for the 2025 Museum Teacher Fellowship Program through the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
This highly competitive fellowship is designed to deepen educators’ understanding of Holocaust history and pedagogy while supporting their efforts to bring high-quality, accessible Holocaust education to students and communities. Fellows participate in an intensive summer institute at the Museum and commit to leading professional development in their local area. Eli traveled to Washington, D.C., in July to complete the summer institute. He was able to learn from expert historians, connected with colleagues from around the country, and prepared to give free professional development to local educators centered around the Museum's education resources.
Upon returning, Eli shared, "this experience helped me connected with amazing educators from around the country and to ensure that local educators and our students have access to the most relevant, reliable, and recent sources on this important topic."

The beginning of August has us all feeling excited to welcome students back to the buildings! Summer is a busy time of year, especially with the passage of a referendum. We invite you to read the shared Referendum Project Update to find out more about some of what has been taking place this summer.

OoMPA (Omro Music Parents Association) is hosting a golf scramble on Saturday, July 12, at Utica Golf Club in Oshkosh, and there are openings for teams!
Each team of four will golf 18 holes, have a cart, and two drink tickets per person, hole events, and dinner after.
Additionally, there will be raffle baskets, in which participants or other attendees can win!
Gather up a team and have a great day of golf and fun, or stop by and win some amazing prizes, all while supporting School District of Omro music students and programs!

Wraparound Care, a collaboration between the School District of Omro and the Boys and Girls Club, is expanding! More seats are now available!

The Advanced Culinary Arts class teamed up with OHS Jazz Band to create an evening of "Sweet Jazz" on May 14. This was a night for the band and choirs to showcase their musical talents (under the direction of Wendy Fisher and Erica Birenbaum), while the guests enjoying the show, had the choice of delicious desserts made and served by the culinary class (supervised by Cindy Morse) during intermission. Dessert options consisted of Chocolate Lasagna, Strawberry Shortcake, and Smores Cupcakes.
