Omro High School selects a senior student each month to be the Student of the Month. Seniors are selected for their academic successes, leadership abilities, citizenship, and extracurricular activities. The seniors who are selected for this honor are also invited to attend an American Legion meeting for recognition by the sponsoring organization and may go on the ballot to be a graduation speaker.
The November Student of the Month is Ava.
Throughout high school, Ava has been involved with Omro Basketball, Battle of the Books, Spanish Club, Book Club, and Blaze Girls’ Basketball League. Additionally, she is a member of National Honor Society (NHS) and Student Athlete Leadership Training (SALT). Ava has also volunteered her time working at Shopping Day with Kids, OES Reading Buddies, Highway Cleanup, Church Picnics, Waukau Chicken BBQs, Milis Strong Track Meet, HB Patch Field Days, Booster Club Golf Outing, Class Concessions, Toilet Talk, and Omro Hoops Club Tournaments.
Outside of school, Ava enjoys reading, baking, cooking, walking, gardening, scrapbooking, and journaling.
After graduation, she plans to attend South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, playing basketball and pursuing an engineering and business degree in Business Management in Technology.
